Position Summary:

The Kindergarten through 5th Grade Layout Artist will work closely with the subject matter expert to format lesson content, questions, graphics, maps and diagrams for Elementary online courses. This position will take direction from the eLearning Curriculum Manager and follow prescribed standards to achieve and maintain a cohesive look in our online curriculum. 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Education/Certification  

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited Four-Year College or University preferred.

 

 

Experience

  • Must have 2+ years of experience in layout design. 
  • Experience with K-5 grade level curriculum preferred

 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

 

  • Must have experience working in Adobe InDesign.
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office/Google suites.
  • Must be very detail-oriented.
  • Must work on tight deadlines.
  • Must have working knowledge of online course development.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Must have the ability to research new styles, techniques, and tools.
  • Must have the ability to communicate well with team members.
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Must have the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.

 

Preferred KSAs

 

  • Must have working knowledge of HTML coding.
  • Must have experience working in Visual Studio Code.
  • Advanced knowledge of web development and web management software.
  • Working knowledge of basic layout principles.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

The Layout Artist will be responsible for the following:

  • Layout paper based curriculum including lesson text, questions, and graphics in an understanding way based on age appropriateness.
  • Create HTMLs with lesson text, questions, graphics and media pieces.
  • Follow set guidelines and procedures as to size, content and design of online materials. 
  • Adapt workflow and schedule to meet deadlines. 
  • Perform special projects, during and after normal business hours, and other duties as assigned.
