Position Summary:

The interactive media designer is responsible for creation of media to be used in online courses. This will require the ability to create and code interactive media, follow layout designs and storyboards, understanding of animation, and team interaction. This position will provide support and guidance to the media team through code implementation, and interactive design.  

 

Qualifications:

Education/Certification

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Art, Game and Interactive Media Design, or a related field
    (required): or 4+ years working experience.
  • 2+ years working as an Interactive Media Designer

 

Experience

  • Must have 2+ years of experience in Graphic Design or Digital Media creation. 
  • Experience with K-12 grade level curriculum preferred

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

 

  • Understand and able to implement HTML coding
  • Construct (or other HTML5 coding platform)
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suites:
  • Animate CC: able to code interactive media using provided art layout and design
  • Illustrator CC: able to create or modify art for use in interactive media
  • After Effects: any understanding or previous use of this program would be beneficial, must be willing to learn
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Working knowledge of basic video and audio production principles and practices.
  • Ability to establish goals with timelines for curriculum projects
  • Exemplary oral and written communication skills
  • Passionate about education, literacy, and character education
  • Strong work ethic and task oriented

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • The Interactive Media Designer will translate storyboards into interactive game deliverables. Produce interactive media with educational content. Create game-like media using design layouts produced by team members. Conceptualize and generate new assets for media based on a given production style guide. Organize project files and ensure proper layer labeling based on production guidelines. Revise assigned projects and those of team members based on multiple rounds of feedback. Collaborate with creative team members to maintain a unified look and feel of the product being worked on. Attend regular meetings and share new ideas and solutions.

  • Macintosh desktop computer and software
  • Construct
  • Adobe Cloud (Animate, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Google Suite of applications (docs, sheets, slides, hangouts, site, video conferencing)
