Position Summary:

An Instructional Facilitator develops a learning plan to ensure that a curriculum meets the standards for schools. Responsibilities include implementing techniques for each teacher to reach scholars. Duties may involve one-on-one meetings to train and coach the staff and provide recommendations for learning materials and textbooks. Additional requirements expected include monitoring teachers in classrooms, evaluating current instructional practices, and assisting in the development of new programs.

 

Qualifications:

Education/Certification, and Experience

  • Bachelors degree from a recognized, accredited college or university (required)
  • Masters Degree (preferred) 
  • Valid Texas Educator Certification (required)
  • T-TESS Certification (preferred) 
  • Minimum three years of successful classroom teaching experience (required)
  • Minimum two years of instructional coaching experience (preferred) 
  • Proficient in managing a team, coaching, and designing curriculum (required)
  • Certification in school administration (preferred) 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) 

  • Implements Get Better Faster coaching protocol at all campuses without alterations
  • Uses the Sequence of Highest Leverage Action Steps (Leverage Leadership) for Principals as the framework for conducting coaching sessions
  • Creates, maintains, organizes, and submits all documentation associated with the coaching session 
  • Works with an urgency that results in a high level of proficiency
  • Review and audit curriculum for effectiveness
  • Train and facilitate the disaggregation of data to improve student outcomes
  • Have a strong working knowledge of research-based instructional practices, especially those that work best with highly diverse and at-risk populations
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Has a vision to transform and turn around schools for better student outcomes 
  • Facilitate instructional calls both virtually and in-person
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible attitude 
  • Self-paced, self-starter
  • General knowledge of charter school organizational structure and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to be a contributing member of an organizational team
  • Functional in standard office applications/systems (word processing, spreadsheets, internet, etc.)
  • General knowledge of technology hardware
  • Works with minimum supervision and direction
  • A non-bias viewpoint of the instructional practices performed in Ignite schools

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Observe instructional delivery and provide feedback to enhance and support the development of each teacher's content area using the Get Better Faster protocol. 
  • Supporting teachers in the design of units and lessons for the development of their year-long curriculum based on the Ignite Community School instructional learning cycle. 
  • Analyze data to modify curriculum and forms of assessment to meet students’ needs
  • Collaborate with the school personnel to advise principals and teachers on developing instructional strategies and intervention programs for students
  • Observe teachers and provide specific strategies to improve instructional delivery
  • Actively collaborate with Area Superintendents, Executive Director of Schools, principals, district coordinators, interventionists, and campus staff in identifying program needs;
  • Have a strong technical aptitude;
  • Must be willing to work weekends and some evenings
  • Any other duties as assigned

Equipment Used:

  • All equipment required to perform jobs duties and tasks previously described

Physical / Environmental Factors:

All campuses are temperature controlled with hard surface floors. The job requires physical mobility, standing, prolonged sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling (10 pounds minimum). The job may also require climbing stairs, stooping, bending, and reaching overhead. Working conditions may be modified under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for diagnosed medical conditions.
