Position Summary:

The Communications Specialist will work to ensure that ResponsiveEd stakeholders are kept informed by communicating through several channels, such as a staff intranet, email bulletins, and regular newsletters. Working closely with executives, this professional will establish organizational messages and keep staff informed of developments. Responsible for maintaining communications policies and procedures, monitoring company media and utilizing electronic publishing technology.


Qualifications:

 

Education/Certification/Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University, preferably in the area of journalism, marketing communications, or related field
  • Prior blogging/intranet management experience  
  • 2-4 years of professional communications experience
  • Experience interacting with external media is a plus
  • Presentation preparation experience for executive level staff

  • Superior proofreading and editing skills
  • Maintain high ethics with writing presentation, content, and daily work tasks

  • Strong organizational, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Willing to work occasional prolonged and irregular hours

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Responsible for creating new content that integrates across multiple platforms
  • Ensure organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders
  • Responsible for administering internal communications including weekly news briefs, weekly updates, monthly newsletters and managing content on the company's internal webpages
  • Oversee social media efforts on all external and internal channels
  • Manage Social Media Communications Coordinator
  • Measure and track the effectiveness of blog topics based on the number of viewers and comments
  • Assist in external communications involving the media
  • Responsible for administration of company-wide intranet
  • Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums and for different departments of the organization
  • Advise senior executives of developments throughout the organization, either face to face or through regular written communication
  • Plan, coordinate and execute quarterly live town halls involving executive staff
  • Produce content for and manage the ResponisveEd.com Newsroom including organization of press releases, news features, and publication of blog articles
  • Coordinate district-wide events such as ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings, and annual initiatives across all campuses
  • Operate as a brand expert in order to establish consistency across entire ResponsiveEd family of schools
  • Demonstrate a passion for representing ResponsiveEd in the best light possible in order to provide hope and promote moral and academic excellence
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned
