Position Summary:


The Vice President of Moral & Civics Education is an influential leadership role responsible for driving the moral and civic pieces of ResponsiveEd’s mission, which is to: provide hope for students through educational options that promote a free society and cultivate moral and academic excellence. This individual will discern the principles of ResponsiveEd’s mission, in terms of moral and civics education, and then create a vision of how those principles can be expressed in each of the ResponsiveEd five, unique school models. How those principles affect all aspects of the campus (such as curriculum, teacher development, décor, resources for families, etc.) will also be an important consideration. Being a visionary and a charismatic leader who is accustomed to dealing at the executive level, with the ability to gain consensus on innovative ideas and initiatives, will be critical to being successful in this role.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification

  • Master’s degree preferred; a focus in education is a bonus
  • Additional Master’s degree in Philosophy or similar field preferred
  • PhD in relevant discipline also preferred


Experience

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in Education preferred
  • Experience in the classical model of education also preferred


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of current trends in moral and civics education
  • Advanced knowledge of the state curriculum standards for K-12 learning
  • Deep understanding of Classical Methodologies preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Confident and effective public speaker
  • Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with internal and external stakeholders
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft products (especially PowerPoint), as well as the Google Suite
  • Highly organized, with the ability to multi-task and work on a number of different projects simultaneously
  • Project management skills preferred
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to plan and set priorities

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Work closely with ResponsiveEd leadership and schools to discern the principles of the company’s mission, in terms of moral and civics education
  • Develop and implement programs, at the campus level, to further ResponsiveEd’s vision of moral and civics education, related to all aspects of the campus, including curriculum, teacher development, décor, resources for families, etc.
  • Support brand leaders’ efforts to maintain and enhance school cultures that are consistent with promoting a free society and cultivating high moral standards
  • All other related duties as assigned
