Primary Purpose
The 504 Remote Facilitator is responsible for coordinating, planning, and preparing compliance documents for students eligible for 504 services. This person is responsible for facilitating 504 meetings at the assigned campus or campuses, remotely.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree (required)
- Texas Teaching Certificate (preferred)
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in special needs area
- Experience in leading remote meetings
- Experience with computer-based documentation systems
- Knowledge of Section 504 laws as well as local policies and procedures
- Knowledge of instructional materials and technology
- Knowledge of and experience implementing instructional accommodations
- Knowledge of state assessment accommodations
- Skilled in working with computer platforms, including but not limited to, G-Suite, Frontline, Word documents and spreadsheets
- Skilled in working with, and presenting, to diverse populations of students, parents, and others
- Exercise good judgment in decision making, especially in difficult circumstances
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-directed, detailed-minded problem solver
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Maintains thorough documentation regarding any parent disagreement/concerns
- Attend relevant professional development.
- Dependable performance, including travel as necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or other administrator that are consistent with the general requirements and qualifications for the position.
- Ensures all Section 504 documentation is uploaded and archived
- Attends relevant professional development.
- Effective communication skills with others as well as the ability to work collaboratively.
- Maintains positive relationships with school staff, parents, and community members.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
